Kind of a fun question for southpaws. I am a leftie and I think there are def. things that all lefties have in common. Even if it's having to struggle in a world made for righties.
MY FAVORITE THINGS ABOUT LEFT HANDED:
>I think lefties are usually very creative (we think with the right portion of the brain) which is cool becuase I am an artist
>When I play softball, pitchers hate me becuase I can switch hit, I have won the game for my team several times
>When I arm wrestle I can beat people with either arm
>It's unique
>We tend to be very successful and rich in life (most of the US presidents are lefties including Obama)
MY LEAST FAVORITE THINGS ABOUT BEING LEFT HANDED:
>Ink stains on my hand
>Scissors and knives
>Those stupid desks made for righties (you know what I'm talking about)
>watches and wedding rings
>I get my directions confused
>How waitresses in resturants always put my drink by my right hand
What do you like about being a leftie? What do you hate about being a leftie?
I'm left handed too. I agree that lefties, for what ever reason, tend to generally be more creative, or have a different way of thinking. I love art. I've even won 1st place in the high school art show for the past 3 years (hoping to make it 4 years in April). Leonardo da Vinci, Michaelangelo, and M.C. Escher, who are some of my favorite artists, were left handed too, which I've always found interesting.
Down sides:
-Pencil/Ink smudges on your hand when writing.
-The metal spiral in spiral notebooks always get in the way.
-The computer mouse is usually setup on the right.
-Defiantly the desks in school.
-Sometimes the logos on coffee mugs only faces outward if you grab the handle with the right hand. If you pick it up with your left, the logo faces you. (I don't know why this bothers me so much)
-Bumping arms with right handed people when sitting at a table.
I enjoy being unique, as you've mentioned. I think it might run in my family. My dad is left handed, and so is my grandma, so it's a possibility. Maybe if I have kids someday, they'll be left handed too.
