Ambidextrous! I have been learning the Greek sign language for a couple of years now and i use my left hand much more than the right, but i use my right one to write. I was confused by the fact, so i just asked my psychology instructor about it and she said i am ambidextrous.

This is from an article of New York Times:
Q.

Are there any truly ambidextrous people? Some people eat left-handed but play sports right-handed. How does that happen?

A. The notion of ambidexterity is valid, and some people do show equal proficiency in various manual skills with both hands, said Dr. George Michel, an associate professor of psychology at De Paul University in Chicago. However, he said, hand-use preferences are on a continuum, and a mere three categories of left-handed, right-handed and ambidextrous are artificial divisions.

A British researcher, Kenneth Flowers, calls ambidextrous people ambilateral, and further divides them into the ambidextral, those with both hands as skilled as a right-hander's right hand, and the ambisinistral, those with both hands as skilled as a right-hander's left hand.

Dr. Michel said it was common for an individual to find some skills to be easier for one hand while others fall more easily into the other hand's grasp. The explanation is that two sets of factors are involved in which hand acquires which skills, he said, "the child's own capacities and hand-use preferences, which even young infants have established, and the skills modeled on the way other people do things, even contrary to their own preferences."
References :
http://proquest.umi.com/pqdweb?did=968977151&sid=3&Fmt=3&clientId=56124&RQT=309&VName=PQD

Left handed. The hand you write with is a stronger indicator because the your ability to do it with each hand differs strongly. I myself can play sports with both hands, but I write with my right hand and therefore am right handed.
References :
Ambidextrous means you are good with both hands. Doesn't necessarily means you write with both hands. So, i have to agree with the first answer that you are ambidextrous
References :
i know in most cases you are labeled by the hand you are writing with..but I would go with the hand you go with most...the dominant one..the one you use most of the time..not only writing..
References :
I've known people who have the opposite problem- they write with their right hand and do everything else with their left, usually because they were taught to write with their right hand in school. I guess the reverse could manifest too, that you are generally right handed but have been taught to write with your left. it depends on in what proportions you use right to left. based on what you described, i'd say you're dominant right handed
References :
Although ambidexterity is rare, ambidextrous people may still gravitate towards performing certain types of tasks with a specific hand. The degree of versatility with each hand is generally the qualitative factor in determining a person's ambidexterity.
References :
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ambidexterity

Generally it's based on the hand that you write with, especially since lefties are often forced to learn how to use equipment made for right-handed use. Since pencils can go in either hand easily, your writing tends to reveal more about which hand is your natural hand. Most would call you left-handed.
