“Dandruff shampoos are a waste of money.” This is a common statement made by people who are not able to get rid of their dandruff problems. Eventually, they often put all the blame on dandruff shampoos.

Did you know that a scalp specific fungus, Malassezia globosa, is the responsible agent for causing dandruff. There are a combination of factors which cause dandruff, but the dandruff causing fungus is the agent which triggers its impact.

Dandruff treatments include regular shampooing with an anti-fungal product. However, lot of people believe that dandruff treatments can become ineffective with long-term use as the dandruff-causing fungus becomes tolerant to one of the most common anti-dandruff active ingredients – pyrithione zinc.

Recently, Procter and Gamble achieved a scientific breakthrough against dandruff-causing fungus. Their scientists have found that additional zinc can potentiate the pyrithione zinc formula and create a more bio-active and extremely efficacious treatment that can kill the causative fungus and help eliminate dandruff.

P&G examined their subjects over a period of 22 weeks in which they were regularly using dandruff shampoos. Thus the scientists inferred that pyrithione zinc treatment remains effective all the time and helps in eliminating dandruff problems.

It seems that more than using various products, human error is one of the prime causes of dandruff. If we fail to take good care of our hair and scalp, then it is bound to get infected, ultimately causing dandruff.

So make sure you use the best barbering scissors while cutting your hair as they wont cause split ends. Also, consult with your stylist and start using their recommended products to have healthy and dandruff free hair!

Halo cutting technique is one of the several hair cutting techniques. The fact that this technique involves using thinning shears from start to finish means not every stylist can perform this technique successfully.

Paulo Candido from Ego Mechanix is one of the few stylists who get the Halo cutting technique spot on. Paulo is a top stylist and was seen during Shear Genius Season 2.

The Halo technique is used to create a guideline for the entire haircut. However, many stylists make the mistake, while using texturizing shears, to texturize too far into the hair, which creates an inner haircut.

One of the keys to approach the Halo technique is establishing correct sections. Brick Laying can be used to evenly distribute texture throughout the hair.

Check out the Halo cutting technique tutorial featuring Paulo Candido below.
