15% of people are left handed, but up until now there were very few haircutting scissors that catered to this percentage – many left-handed hairstylists have ended up learning how to cut hair using their right hand which can cause problems in terms of ergonomics and functionality.

Fortunately, their are some popular scissor brands and styles now available for lefties!

Many are made out of super-steel, which is actually a better component than what the right handed scissors are made out of, so you’ll finally get the advantage! Some also feature an improved adjustor dial – which can be thick and awkward. But this one is slim and it won’t get in the way as you cut. For additional cutting ease, look for handles that are ergonomic, and a bent thumbring and permanent finger rest.

A lot of design and attention went into creating these scissors – so that when you put it in your hand it feels like it should be there!

I want to start trimming my own hair, but I don’t know what brand of scissors/shears I should get.

Also, at what angle should you cut your hair and how much should you cut off to get rid of dead/split ends?

What is the safest way to cut the back of your hair? LOL!
Thanks, Betty. I don’t have layers, so I guess don’t have too much to worry about. YAY! xD

any scissors are good your angle depends on your ideal look but i cut at a slightly upward angle
user a hand mirror and hold it in front of you so you can see the back of your head in your bathroom mirror ( im just assuming that’s the biggest mirror in you house if not then use the biggest mirror in your house so you can see your entire head) you need to cut off about an inch for split ends but it really depends on if you want layers or not ect. because the different layers or your hair will need to be cut as different layers

it takes alot of practice so be prepared to mes it up

im a JROTC cadet and i dont have money for a hair cut so Can you give your self a military hair cut with scissors?

Not without looking like a mess unless you take a ton of time to just keep clipping along the scalp till you have it all even. Don’t you know anyone with a set of clippers? Call around, someone you know HAS to have a set. You can do that without a guard on and you’ll be cut close and tidy.
