September 2009 Archives

After Rihanna revealed her new hair style a few days ago, it was time for Drew Barrymore to follow her footsteps.  She has ditched her previous hairstyle and is sporting a new cool hairstyle that seems to be textured with some quality hair shears.

So, if you’re looking for hair inspiration for a hot new autumn look, then look no further then Drew Barrymore. She has been flaunting her brand new sophisticated hairstyle which was achieved with the help of professional hairdressing scissors at every opportunity that she gets. Recently she was seen flaunting it when she stepped out on ‘The Tonight Show with Conran O’Brien.’

Undoubtedly, she looked hotter than ever as her new hairstyle suited perfectly to her classic round face. With the help of some hair shears, Drew has returned to the bleach-blonde Drew that we’ve all grown to love.

I wonder how Alexa Chung convinced Drew to ditch her earlier dip-dye hairstyle. But I have to give credit to this stylist as she performed some great texturizing techniques with the help of hair shears and thinning shears. And all that hard work has finally resulted into this cool and chic – perfect hairstyle for Drew’s effortless look.

Of course this new celebrity hairstyle will attract many young women to copy Drew’s blonde look. But if you are planning to do so, I would recommend an icy white blonde to carry off the contrast with the darker color. But remember that this will affect your whole look. So think twice before committing to this style and remember to use only quality hair shears while styling your hair.

London Fashion Week has seen some great moments this time. The most memorable moment I remember was when Pixie Geldof sported the mullet hairstyle. Her stylists must have used professional hair shears for achieving that special look.

One of the articles that I read recently mentioned that Professional hair shears and Pixie Geldof redefine hairstyles at the London Fashion Week.

Pixie also sported more retro hairstyles during the later stages but without the help of professional hair shears, her stylists would have never achieved such stunning mullet hairstyle. What do you think?

I know this is a highly debatable topic and everyone will have their own opinion, but the idea of penning my views on this topic occurred to me when I saw Gordon Miller talking about it on Facebook. Gordon is the Executive Director of The National Cosmetology Association (NCA). NCA is the world’s largest non-profit association of salon professionals. It offers membership to licensed hairdressers, nail technicians, estheticians, educators, school and salon owners.

While sharing his experience on one of the training events, Gordon posed the following question: “Why are there not more women icons in the industry?” He was a bit set back by the fact that the cosmetology industry is becoming more and more male dominant. When compared to their male counterparts, there are very few professional female hairstylists who are regularly seen at cosmetology events or training seminars.

I believe that the main reason for this is the lack of awareness about cosmetology education. Even today, many students and parents are not fully aware about the benefits of a career in cosmetology. Due to the predetermined notions, this industry is looked upon by people as one that does not require much of an intellect. But that’s so untrue!

In fact, I would say that always continuing your cosmetology education is one of the best career options because it provides you all the necessary skills to build your own business. So for those of you who always had that entrepreneurial aptitude, this industry holds lot of opportunities for you.

With access to the Cutting Edge Hair Show, one can easily stay up to date with the latest trends in this industry. It’s one of the most unique online cosmetology education programs which allows you to learn at your own pace and on your own schedule! You don’t need to attend regular classes and submit assignments and all those typical things that happen in other educational programs. With just a laptop and an internet connection, you can learn about the hair and beauty industry and from the comforts of your own home.

Though there are other programs offering education in cosmetology, the Cutting Edge Hair Show is unique in its own way. First, it imparts education online. Second, it provides practical resources that help in learning about hairstyling, hair coloring, salon safety and other important topics. And finally, this online cosmetology education program does not cost you a dime!

So if you belong to the fairer sex and wish to prove Gordon Miller wrong, head over to the Cutting Edge Hair Show and get yourself a fulfilling and rewarding career in the cosmetology industry.

All the celebrities have their specific peak period when they are at the top of the world. Fans love them; their colleagues can’t stop ravishing about them and the media just adores every act of them. But when they fall, they hit the ground very hard. With the end of their peak period, nobody wants to talk about them.

And that makes them insecure and then they start doing lot of weird things – only to catch the attention and stay in the limelight. Megan Fox seems to be the latest star to have learned this art and seems to follow Angelina Jolie.

Recently I was reading an article that said that Megan Fox was a cutter in her teens. It should be noted that this girl has been worshiping Angelina Jolie and has been following her footsteps. So is this another tantrum from Megan just because Angelina was a cutter in her past days? What do you think?
