So I started working at a vineyard were work consist of using shears to prune vines, thick branches etc. and we work 7 hours a day, anyways yesterday my first day my right hand(the one I use most) started hurting a lot I asked my co-workers if that was normal and they said it was and my supervisor said it would go away after the first day, but today at work the pain was unbearable i couldn’t even close the shears my fingers would hurt like hell when I tried bending them I took my glove off and my hand was really swollen and purple so I started using my left , but now it’s also hurting, what is this pain I don’t think this is normal it shouldn’t be hurting this bad, I already asked if I could do something else but they said they didn’t have any other work so I think I might have to quit but since job’s are scarce I am undecided, will the pain go away or will I risk hurting my hands now or in the long run if i continue to work there.

Sorry bro, but you have lady hands.
The pain, swelling, and bruising is probably from you handling the shears with your bare hands.
Your skin was most likely being rubbed against all day, and is just pissed off from being abused. The bruising and swelling is probably from the hard shears being pressed and rubbed against your bones for seven hours.
Take like TWO days off from this job if you can, and don’t use your hands too often. Your supervisor is an idiot. Swelling and pain like that will take at least two to three days to heal.
Next time you need to wear gloves, and I suggest thick ones. Yea it’ll get in the way but it’ll prevent your hand from swelling up again.
