Quick Synopsis:

The survival of the human spirit has never seen such insurmountable odds in celebrity director Julian Schnabel’s film which explores the possibilities of creating an inner life when one is shut off from the outer one through the extraordinary and tragic life of French Elle magazine editor-in-chief Jean-Dominique Bauby. In 1995 at the age of forty-three, the Parisian bon vivant, playboy, and father of three had the entire world in his hand when he suffered a massive stroke which left him completely paralyzed with locked-in syndrome; a condition in which a patient is aware and awake, but cannot move or communicate due to complete paralysis of nearly all voluntary muscles in the body. And save for his mental functions conveyed as inner monologues, his mind has only a single eyeball as an outlet for expression, and must spell out words by selecting them one letter at a time, blinking when the appropriate letter is recited to him. While heavy doses of confusion, regret, and pain are a strong theme early on, what transpires is a story of a man who keeps himself alive through his limitless imagination and memory; a film that awakens a trapped life with the kind of poetry only the camera can write.

*Nick glanced at Elle quickly and she nodded her approval*
Nick:Sure why not?
*They walk out onto the dance floor and start dancing,Elle go’s to the refreshment table by herself everyone else had already gone out on the dance floor except for Skandar*
*With Nick and Miley*
Nick:So…….. what’s up?
Miley:Nothing i’m glad you let me dance with you*smiles*
Nick:Sure we are friends so why wouldn’t I *smiles*
Miley:Oh cool(happily) hey nick
Nick:Ya?
Miley:I miss you you know
Nick:……..
Miley:You don’t have to say it back i just wanted you to know
Nick:Uh thanks….

*Back with Elle*
Elle:(talking to herself)What the did i do?why did i let her dance with him??why?
(then a voice came from behind and made her turn)
Skandar:Talk to yourself often?*smirks*
Elle:Well ya kind of haha,hey skandar
Skandar:So how come you are standing here and talking to youself?(laughs)
Elle:Well Nick is dancing with Miley so i might as well eat ahaha and i really have no idea what happened to everyone else
Skandar:Well since you are not doing anything do you wanna dance?
Elle:Uhh Sure*smiles* come on let’s go i love this song!
*Elle and skandar walk out onto the dance floor and start dancing and Elle and Skandar is a horrible dancer*
Elle:Ow! ahahha you just stepped on my foot again! her let me help you out!haha
(She grabs his hand and directs him behind her so at this point they are close to grinding)
Skandar:Well i never said i was a very good dancer haha
Elle:Ya i kinda figured that out on my own*smirks* plus this is like the easiest way to dance just move with me*smiles*
Skandar:So much cruelty in such a small person
Elle:Ya it’s a gift and i’m almost as tall as you! what are you talking about?! ahahaha
Skandar:Good point but you are thinner so ha!
Elle:Whatever ahaha
*With Nick and Miley*
Miley:I love this song!
Nick:Me too, Elle likes it too she listens to it like 24/7 ahaha
MIley:(a little sadly) ha ya..*she turns him and starts grinding with him*
NIck:uh? what are you doing hahaha
Miley:Dancing
Nick:Ya ok(awkwardly)*thinking to himself* Elle will be fine with it i think…right she will (trying to reassure himself)
*Just then Nick spots Elle dancing with Skandar*
Nick:What the heck!
Miley:What??
Nick:Nothing nevermind(confused)

Miley:Well thanks for the dance nick
Nick:No probl-(nick was cut off my miley’s lips on his and for a moment forgot about Elle entirely and kissed her back)
